8-Port 10/100Mbps PoE+ Switch
The LS1210P provides eight 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PoE+ ports. Each PoE port can automatically detect compatible powered devices and supply power according to the IEEE 802.3af/at standard.
This makes the switch suitable for connecting IP cameras, compatible Wi-Fi access points, VoIP phones and other PoE-powered devices without requiring a separate power cable for each endpoint.
96W PoE Budget
The switch has a total 96W PoE power budget. Individual PoE ports can provide up to 30W, subject to the total available power budget and the requirements of the connected powered devices.
The 96W figure is the combined PoE budget and should not be interpreted as 96W available simultaneously on every port. Actual available PoE power can vary according to connected devices and environmental conditions.
IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+
All eight PoE ports support IEEE 802.3af/at. The switch can therefore supply power and network data to compatible PoE/PoE+ devices over a single Ethernet cable.
For surveillance deployments, this simplifies installation because compatible IP cameras can receive both connectivity and power directly from the switch.
250m Extend Mode
One of the key features of the LS1210P is Extend Mode. When enabled for ports 1–8, the switch can support data and power transmission distances of up to 250 metres under suitable conditions.
Important: TP-Link states that the ports operate at 10Mbps in Extend Mode. The actual achievable distance can vary depending on cable quality, cable type and the power requirements of the connected PoE device.
This feature is particularly useful for surveillance installations where cameras need to be installed significantly farther away from the network switch.
Isolation Mode
Isolation Mode provides one-click traffic separation between connected client devices on ports 1–8. This can help prevent direct communication between isolated endpoints while maintaining connectivity toward the appropriate uplink/network port.
For CCTV deployments, client isolation can help limit unnecessary traffic between individual connected devices and improve network separation.
PoE Auto Recovery
The LS1210P includes PoE Auto Recovery. The switch can automatically detect a dropped or unresponsive PoE-powered device and restart its PoE connection to attempt recovery.
This feature can be useful in surveillance deployments where remote cameras or other PoE endpoints may occasionally become unresponsive and manual physical intervention is inconvenient.
2× Gigabit Non-PoE Ports
In addition to the eight 10/100Mbps PoE ports, LS1210P provides 2× 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit RJ45 ports. These ports are non-PoE.
The Gigabit ports can be used for uplink connectivity to a router, NVR, main network switch or other Gigabit Ethernet device.
Important: the eight PoE ports themselves are Fast Ethernet 10/100Mbps. Only the two additional ports support Gigabit Ethernet.
Unmanaged Plug-and-Play Design
LS1210P is an unmanaged switch. It does not require a web interface, controller or software configuration. Simply connect the power adapter, network devices and PoE endpoints, and the switch automatically handles Ethernet negotiation and PoE detection.
This makes it suitable for installations where simple connectivity and PoE power are more important than advanced VLAN, routing or centralized management features.
Fanless Design
The switch uses a fanless design, eliminating the need for an internal cooling fan. TP-Link lists fanless operation as one of the product’s features, making LS1210P suitable for environments where low operating noise is desirable.

TP-Link LS1210P for IP CCTV
LS1210P is particularly suited to IP CCTV installations. Its eight PoE+ ports allow compatible IP cameras to receive power and data through the same Ethernet cable.
The dedicated Gigabit ports can be used as uplinks toward an NVR, router or core switch. Extend Mode can be enabled when cameras need to be installed farther from the switch, with the important limitation that the port speed drops to 10Mbps in this mode.
The combination of PoE Auto Recovery and Isolation Mode further supports surveillance-oriented deployments.
LS1210P for Wi-Fi Access Points
The eight PoE+ ports can power compatible IEEE 802.3af/at wireless access points. This allows an AP to receive both network connectivity and power through a single Ethernet cable.
However, because the eight PoE ports are limited to 10/100Mbps, LS1210P should be selected with the bandwidth requirements of the connected access points in mind.
LS1210P for VoIP Phones
Compatible IEEE 802.3af/at PoE VoIP phones can also be connected to the eight PoE ports. The switch supplies both Ethernet connectivity and PoE power without requiring a separate power adapter at each phone.

Important Port-Speed Note
LS1210P should not be confused with a fully Gigabit PoE switch. The product has 10 total ports, but only the two non-PoE ports are Gigabit. The eight PoE ports operate at 10/100Mbps.
This configuration can be appropriate for many IP camera installations because many surveillance cameras do not require Gigabit Ethernet. However, if the connected PoE devices require Gigabit connectivity, a Gigabit PoE switch should be selected instead.
PoE Budget Planning
The 96W PoE budget is shared across the eight PoE ports. For example, eight devices consuming 10W each would require approximately 80W, leaving theoretical budget headroom within the 96W total. Actual power availability depends on the connected devices and operating conditions.
TP-Link states that its PoE budget figures are based on laboratory testing and that actual PoE performance can vary because of client limitations and environmental factors.
