The MikroTik hAP ac² RBD52G-5HacD2HnD-TC is a dual-band wireless router and access point designed for home, small office, branch office and other indoor networking environments. It provides simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless connectivity, five Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB connectivity and MikroTik RouterOS.
The hAP ac² supports WiFi 4 on 2.4 GHz and WiFi 5 on 5 GHz, with maximum theoretical wireless rates of 300 Mbps and 867 Mbps respectively. Together these provide an AC1200 wireless class. The device is powered by a quad-core IPQ-4018 processor and includes 128 MB RAM and 16 MB flash storage.
The MikroTik hAP ac² operates both wireless bands simultaneously, allowing compatible devices to connect to either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz according to their capabilities and network configuration.

The combined wireless classification is AC1200. The advertised wireless rates are theoretical PHY rates; actual throughput depends on client capability, channel width, signal strength, interference, distance and network configuration.
One of the key advantages of the MikroTik hAP ac² is its five 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports. These ports can be used for WAN connectivity, wired LAN devices, switches, PCs, network storage and other Ethernet equipment.
Unlike older MikroTik wireless routers that use Fast Ethernet, the hAP ac² provides Gigabit Ethernet across all five wired ports, making it suitable for modern broadband connections and local network transfers.
The hAP ac² is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm IPQ-4018 processor with an automatic nominal frequency range of approximately 488–896 MHz. The device has 128 MB RAM and 16 MB flash storage.
This hardware platform provides processing resources for RouterOS networking functions including routing, firewall configuration, wireless management, VLANs, VPN features and other supported network services.
The MikroTik hAP ac² runs RouterOS with a Level 4 license. RouterOS provides considerably more configuration flexibility than a basic consumer WiFi router.
Depending on the deployment, RouterOS can be configured for routing, firewall policies, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, wireless access, VPN services, bandwidth management, monitoring and other networking functions.
The hAP ac² supports IPsec hardware acceleration, making it suitable for VPN-based connectivity between compatible networks. These figures are manufacturer benchmark results rather than guaranteed real-world VPN throughput. Actual performance depends on the RouterOS configuration, encryption settings, packet sizes and traffic pattern.
The hAP ac² includes one USB Type-A port. MikroTik specifies USB support for applications such as external storage and compatible 3G/4G LTE modems.
The USB interface supports up to 1A of current according to the manufacturer specification. Compatible modem and storage support should be checked against the current RouterOS version and device requirements.
The hAP ac² supports passive PoE-in, providing an alternative to powering the device through its DC jack. The DC input range is 12–30V.
This can be useful when the router is installed in a location where power can be delivered through Ethernet infrastructure. Unlike 802.3af/at PoE, passive PoE does not perform the same standardized power negotiation, so the correct voltage and compatible PoE equipment must be used.
