MikroTik hEX S RB760iGS is a compact wired Gigabit router designed for homes, small offices, branch networks and professional networking environments where wireless connectivity is not required. It combines five Gigabit Ethernet ports with a dedicated SFP interface, passive PoE-Out, USB 2.0 and a microSD slot.
The hEX S is powered by a dual-core MT7621A processor running at 880MHz with 256MB RAM and 16MB Flash storage. It runs MikroTik RouterOS with a Level 4 license and provides advanced routing, firewall, VLAN, VPN, bandwidth-management and network-monitoring capabilities. MikroTik also provides hardware IPsec acceleration support on this platform.
The RB760iGS provides five 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports. RouterOS allows the ports to be configured according to the network design, including WAN, LAN, bridge, VLAN and routed interfaces.
With five Gigabit ports, the hEX S is suitable for broadband connections, office LANs, branch networks, IP cameras, access points, servers and other wired network equipment.
One of the defining features of the hEX S is its dedicated SFP cage. The interface supports compatible SFP modules with speeds up to 1.25Gbps, allowing the router to connect to fiber-based infrastructure.
The SFP interface can be used for fiber uplinks, ISP connectivity, building-to-building links or connections to compatible fiber switches and other network equipment.
This makes the RB760iGS different from the standard hEX RB750Gr3, which does not include an SFP interface.
Ether5 supports passive PoE-Out, allowing the router to provide power to a compatible passive-PoE network device through the Ethernet cable. MikroTik specifies passive PoE output up to 57V with a maximum total output current of 500mA.
The PoE-Out voltage follows the input voltage supplied to the router. Because this is passive PoE, the connected device must support the appropriate passive PoE voltage and wiring. Passive PoE-Out should not be treated as universal 802.3af/at PoE-Out.
The first Ethernet port supports PoE-In. The official MikroTik specification lists 802.3af/at PoE-In and an input voltage range of 12–57V. The device can also be powered through its DC jack.
This provides flexibility for installations where the router is located away from a conventional electrical outlet.
The hEX S uses the MT7621A dual-core processor running at 880MHz. It provides four CPU threads and is paired with 256MB RAM and 16MB Flash storage.
This hardware platform provides enough resources for a wide range of RouterOS configurations, including routing, firewalling, VLANs, VPNs, traffic management and monitoring.
The RB760iGS supports hardware-accelerated IPsec encryption. This can improve performance for supported IPsec workloads compared with software-only encryption.
MikroTik’s published laboratory testing reports approximately 231.8Mbps for a single AES-128-CBC + SHA1 IPsec tunnel using 1400-byte packets. Actual performance varies according to configuration, packet size, encryption settings and other RouterOS features enabled.
The hEX S includes both a USB 2.0 Type-A port and a microSD card slot. The USB port supports up to 1A of current, while the microSD interface provides additional local storage capacity.
The additional storage can be useful for RouterOS files, logs and supported applications such as The Dude server package.
The hEX S runs MikroTik RouterOS with a Level 4 license. RouterOS provides extensive control over the wired network.
MikroTik’s official testing reports up to approximately 1.8Gbps in certain 1518-byte fast-path routing/bridging test configurations. These are laboratory results using specialized Xena test equipment and specific RouterOS configurations; actual network throughput can be lower depending on firewall rules, queues, VPNs, packet size and other services.
The RB760iGS measures approximately 113 × 89 × 28mm and uses passive cooling. The compact enclosure makes it suitable for desktop installations, small network cabinets and space-constrained networking environments.
MikroTik specifies a tested ambient temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. The standard hEX S is intended for indoor deployment.

The key difference is that the hEX S RB760iGS adds an SFP interface, passive PoE-Out and microSD storage to the compact five-port Gigabit router platform.
The RB760iGS should not be confused with the newer hEX S (2025), which uses product code E60iUGS. The newer model has a 2.5G-capable SFP interface, a different dual-core ARM CPU, 512MB RAM, 128MB NAND and USB 3.0. The RB760iGS uses a 1.25G SFP interface, MT7621A CPU, 256MB RAM and USB 2.0.
