4MP High-Resolution Surveillance

The S345ZI uses a 1/2.9-inch Progressive Scan CMOS sensor and provides a maximum resolution of 2688 × 1520 pixels. This 4MP resolution provides additional image detail compared with standard 1080p surveillance cameras.

The main stream supports multiple resolutions and frame rates. At 50Hz, the camera supports up to 25fps, while at 60Hz it supports up to 30fps under the specified configurations.

5X Motorized Varifocal Optical Zoom

A major feature of the TP-Link InSight S345ZI is its motorized varifocal lens. The camera uses a 2.7–13.5mm focal length with 5X optical zoom.

The wide 2.7mm setting provides a broad field of view for larger areas, while the 13.5mm telephoto setting narrows the field of view for monitoring more distant or specific areas. Because the lens is motorized, the focal length and focus can be adjusted electronically without physically changing the lens.

Field of View

• Horizontal FOV: 29.6°–102.0°
• Vertical FOV: 16.8°–53.8°
• Diagonal FOV: 34.1°–122.8°
• Aperture: F1.6

This makes the camera suitable for installations where the exact surveillance framing may need to be adjusted after mounting.

60m IR Night Vision

The S345ZI provides infrared night vision with four IR LEDs operating at 850nm. TP-Link specifies an IR range of up to 60 metres.

The camera can automatically switch between day and night operation using its IR-cut filter. IR illumination can also be configured for automatic, scheduled, always-on or always-off operation.

Actual night-time visibility depends on environmental conditions, scene reflectivity, installation height, obstructions and other factors.

Smart Human and Vehicle Detection

The S345ZI is designed to reduce unnecessary surveillance alerts by providing human and vehicle classification. Its smart event functions include several detection types for monitoring defined areas and activities.

• Intrusion Detection
• Line-Crossing Detection
• Region Entering Detection
• Region Exiting Detection
• Loitering Detection
• Object Abandoned Detection
• Object Removal Detection
• People Detection
• Vehicle Detection
• Abnormal Sound Detection
• Scene Change Detection

Basic motion detection is also available, with human and vehicle classification available to improve event filtering.

120dB WDR and Image Enhancement

The camera supports 120dB Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) to help balance scenes containing areas with significant differences between bright and dark exposure levels.

Additional image-processing functions include:

• BLC
• 3D DNR
• HLC
• SmartIR
• Exposure adjustment
• White balance
• Brightness and contrast adjustment
• Saturation and sharpness adjustment
• Privacy masking
• ROI configuration

Video Compression and Storage Efficiency

The InSight S345ZI supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 for the main stream. H.265+ can reduce required bandwidth and storage compared with conventional H.264 encoding under comparable conditions.

The main-stream bitrate is specified from 256Kbps to 6Mbps, while the sub-stream supports 512Kbps to 1024Kbps.

Actual storage requirements vary according to resolution, frame rate, bitrate, scene activity and recording schedule.

Local MicroSD Recording

The S345ZI includes a built-in MicroSD card slot supporting cards up to 512GB. This allows local recording without requiring every recording function to depend on an external NVR.

The camera can also work with VIGI NVR systems and supported VIGI management software. TP-Link’s current firmware documentation also lists support for NetHDD and Automatic Network Replenishment (ANR) when used with a compatible VIGI NVR.

Note: The MicroSD card is not included with the camera.

PoE and Network Connectivity

The camera provides one 10/100Mbps self-adaptive RJ45 Ethernet port with PoE support. It supports IEEE 802.3af/at, Class 0 PoE with maximum PoE power consumption of approximately 12W.

The camera can therefore receive both network connectivity and power through a compatible PoE switch or PoE injector, simplifying outdoor installation.

Audio and Alarm Interfaces

The S345ZI includes a built-in microphone and external audio interfaces. It provides one audio input and one audio output, allowing compatible external audio equipment to be integrated into the surveillance installation.

The camera also provides one alarm input and one alarm output for compatible external alarm devices.

ONVIF and Third-Party Integration

The camera supports ONVIF Profiles S, T and G, allowing integration with compatible third-party NVRs, VMS platforms and surveillance software.

Network protocols include TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DNS, RTSP, NTP, FTP/SFTP, RTP, IPv4 and IPv6. The camera also provides an Open Network Video Interface API for compatible integration.

VIGI App and Management

The S345ZI can be managed through the VIGI App, VIGI Security Manager, web interface, VIGI VMS and VIGI Cloud VMS according to the supported management environment.

This gives installers and administrators multiple options for live viewing, camera configuration, event management and playback.

Outdoor IP67 and IK10 Protection

The camera uses a metal housing and is rated IP67 for weather protection and IK10 for impact resistance. This makes it suitable for outdoor installations where the camera may be exposed to rain, dust and physical impact.

The specified operating temperature is -30°C to 60°C, with operating humidity up to 95% non-condensing.
