The Ubiquiti U6 Pro is a high-performance dual-band WiFi 6 access point designed for large offices, enterprise networks, educational institutions, hospitality environments, retail locations, and other high-density wireless deployments. Built on the UniFi platform, the U6 Pro combines 4×4 MU-MIMO on 5 GHz, 2×2 MU-MIMO on 2.4 GHz, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, advanced wireless management features, and a ceiling or wall-mount design.
The U6 Pro supports up to 4.8 Gbps theoretical data rate on 5 GHz and 573.5 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. These are maximum PHY data rates under specified channel-width and modulation conditions, not guaranteed real-world internet or TCP throughput. The access point provides up to 140 m² (1,500 ft²) coverage and supports 250+ clients according to Ubiquiti’s current specifications.
The U6 Pro uses WiFi 6 technology to improve wireless efficiency and performance in environments where many devices are connected simultaneously. Its 5 GHz radio uses 4×4 MU-MIMO, while the 2.4 GHz radio uses 2×2 MU-MIMO. The six total spatial streams make the U6 Pro well suited for offices, classrooms, hotels, retail stores and other environments with multiple active wireless clients.
The 5 GHz radio supports a maximum theoretical data rate of 4.8 Gbps when using 160 MHz channel bandwidth. The 2.4 GHz radio supports up to 573.5 Mbps with 40 MHz bandwidth. Actual wireless performance depends on client capabilities, channel conditions, interference, distance, channel width, network configuration and other environmental factors.
When managed through UniFi Network, the U6 Pro provides centralized control and monitoring for enterprise wireless deployments. Supported capabilities include wireless meshing, band steering, fast roaming, radio resource management, guest isolation, captive portal functionality, client isolation, WiFi speed limiting, PPSK, WiFi scheduling, RADIUS over TLS and dynamic RADIUS-assigned VLANs.
The U6 Pro features one Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 networking interface and uses PoE for power. This allows a single Ethernet cable to provide both network connectivity and power when connected to a suitable PoE network infrastructure. Ubiquiti lists a 48V 0.5A PoE adapter as an optional power accessory rather than an included standard component.
The U6 Pro is designed for clean ceiling or wall installation. Its included mounting system allows the access point to be positioned in suitable locations for consistent wireless coverage. The enclosure uses polycarbonate, while the mounting hardware uses stainless steel.
With an IP54-rated enclosure, the U6 Pro offers additional protection against dust and water exposure compared with a conventional indoor-only enclosure. Installation conditions should still be selected according to the manufacturer’s environmental specifications.
