The MikroTik cAP ax cAPGi-5HaxD2HaxD is a dual-band WiFi 6 ceiling access point designed for offices, hotels, schools, retail stores, commercial buildings and other indoor environments where reliable wireless coverage and centralized network management are important.
Based on the 802.11ax WiFi 6 standard, the cAP ax delivers up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz under specified wireless PHY conditions, giving it an AX1800 wireless classification. It combines dual-chain radios, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, PoE support, a quad-core ARM64 processor and 1GB of RAM with RouterOS v7.
The cAP ax operates simultaneously on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands using the 802.11ax standard. The 2.4 GHz radio provides up to 574 Mbps, while the 5 GHz radio provides up to 1200 Mbps under the manufacturer’s specified conditions.

The MikroTik cAP ax uses a compact ceiling-access-point design intended to blend into professional indoor environments. Its form factor makes it suitable for open offices, hotel rooms and corridors, classrooms, retail areas, commercial premises and other locations where ceiling-mounted wireless coverage is preferred.
The device measures approximately 228 × 48 mm and is designed for indoor installation. MikroTik specifies an IP20 rating and a tested operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C.
The cAP ax includes two 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports. This provides a Gigabit wired connection between the access point and the network infrastructure while also allowing the second Ethernet interface to be used for compatible downstream connectivity.
One of the Ethernet ports supports passive PoE-out, allowing the cAP ax to provide power to compatible devices such as another network device, CCTV equipment or another compatible MikroTik unit when the power source and installation conditions support the required output.
The cAP ax supports 802.3af/at PoE-in, making it convenient to deploy without a separate local power connection at the access point location.
It also supports a DC input from 18–57V. MikroTik specifies maximum power consumption of approximately 36W with attachments and approximately 11W without attachments.
Ether2 provides passive PoE-out. The supported output depends on the input voltage and power configuration. MikroTik specifies a maximum total output current of up to 600 mA, with a high-voltage current limit of 400 mA under the specified conditions.
This feature can simplify installations where the cAP ax needs to power a compatible downstream device. PoE-out capability should always be checked against the connected device’s voltage, current and power requirements before installation.
