MikroTik CRS112-8P-4S-IN is a professional managed Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for network deployments requiring 8× Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE-Out and 4× SFP ports for fiber connectivity. It combines Ethernet switching, PoE power delivery and optical uplink connectivity in a compact rackmount-ready enclosure.
The CRS112-8P-4S-IN is based on the QCA8511 switch chip with a 400 MHz CPU, 128 MB RAM and 16 MB Flash storage. It runs RouterOS with a Level 5 license, providing configuration and management capabilities beyond a basic unmanaged switch. MikroTik currently lists the model with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, four SFP cages and PoE-Out support.
The switch provides 8× 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports, and all eight Ethernet ports support PoE-Out. This allows compatible network devices to receive both Ethernet connectivity and power through the same network cable.
The PoE-Out ports support 802.3af/at PoE/PoE+ as well as passive PoE functionality. The switch automatically detects compatible powered devices when configured in its default automatic PoE mode.
For optical networking, the MikroTik CRS112-8P-4S-IN includes 4× SFP ports. These ports support compatible SFP modules and provide fiber connectivity for network uplinks, aggregation or longer-distance links.
The SFP interfaces support up to 1.25 Gbps depending on the installed module and connected network equipment. This makes the switch suitable for Gigabit fiber uplinks without requiring 10G SFP+ hardware.
Fiber modules can be selected according to the required fiber type, connector, transmission distance and optical budget.
One of the important features of the CRS112-8P-4S-IN is its flexible power architecture. The switch has two DC input options. One input accepts 18–28V DC, while the secondary input accepts 48–57V DC. The included power adapter is a 28V 3.4A adapter.
When using the higher-voltage 48–57V input, the switch can provide 802.3af/at PoE-Out to compatible devices. A suitable 48V power supply is required separately for this high-voltage PoE mode.
With the included 28V power adapter, the maximum PoE output is specified at 1A per port, with a total maximum of 2.8A across the PoE outputs. When operating from a 48–57V input for 802.3af/at high-power operation, the maximum output is specified at 450mA per port, with a total maximum of 1.4A.
The available PoE power therefore depends on the input voltage and power supply being used. The total PoE budget should always be checked against the requirements of the connected devices.
The CRS112-8P-4S-IN runs MikroTik RouterOS and comes with a Level 5 license. RouterOS provides a broad set of network management and configuration functions, allowing the switch to be integrated into more structured network environments.
Depending on the configuration, administrators can manage VLANs, bridges, firewall rules, routing, port settings, traffic management and other RouterOS features.
